Understanding your HGV quote and payment options
Your quote should help you understand the whole booking, not just the first payment. UK HGV packages differ, so check the details of the one offered to you.
Reviewed 21 October 2026. Licensing guidance here concerns Great Britain. Check Northern Ireland requirements separately.
Why the price is personal
Your current licence, completed tests, chosen category and training needs affect the package. Ask which stages you need before comparing prices. A quote for practical lessons alone is different from a package covering several stages.
Tell your adviser what you have already completed. Ask them to explain any item you do not recognise and confirm the full package in writing.
Read the inclusions and exclusions
- Medical appointment and application support, where included.
- Theory software access, preparation and official test fees.
- Practical tuition, its length and how lessons are arranged.
- Vehicle use for training and tests.
- Relevant Driver CPC preparation and tests.
- VAT where applicable, booking charges and anything payable separately.
Free retests for all UK HGV customers cover every component of Modules 1 and 2: multiple-choice questions, hazard perception and case studies. Recruitment support is included for every customer who fully passes their course with UK HGV. Travel, accommodation, extra tuition and practical retests are separate items to discuss before booking.
Pay in full or discuss a UK HGV payment plan
UK HGV provides its own payment-plan option. Ask what arrangements are available for your package. We do not publish a single monthly amount because the total, deposit and payment schedule can differ.
Before agreeing, check the total payable, deposit, each payment date, any charges and when stages can be booked. Ask what happens if a payment is late or your circumstances change. Compare the complete terms, not only the first instalment.
If you need to change the booking
Read the cancellation, refund, extension and retest terms before paying. Your written package and applicable booking terms explain the arrangements. Contact UK HGV about your own booking rather than relying on another customer's experience.
Sending an enquiry does not book a course. Use the conversation to get a clear plan and the information you need to decide.
